How to use LAUNCH i-TPMS tool with the APP on your phone

 The LAUNCH i-TPMS tool has a matching mobile phone APP, which can be used to activate and program tire pressure sensors without the LAUNCH diagnostic tablet device. This article will introduce how to use the LAUNCH i-TPMS tool with the APP on your phone.

For how to download the APP and connect the LAUNCH i-TPMS tool, please refer to our previous article: How to connect LAUNCH i-TPMS to the mobile phone APP.

This guide is used to troubleshoot for vehicle tire pressures.

1. The following takes BYD Qin PLUS as an example. Enter "Model Selection". Choose "BYD" → "Qin PLUS DM-i", entering the model year selection menu.

2. Connecting i-TPMS to the mobile phone APP does not support diagnosis and learning functions, so there are only two modules "Activation" and "Programming" after entering.

Activation: Activate the tire pressure sensor to determine the quality of the sensor in the tire. If the menu selection is correct but the sensor cannot be activated, it is determined that the sensor is damaged and needs to be replaced.

Programming: Used to program the Launch sensor. This function writes the original vehicle sensor data into the Launch sensor, and then the tire pressure fault can be eliminated after the sensor is installed.

Switch to the "Programming" menu, which includes: Manual Creation, Copy Creation and Automatic Creation. See the following figure.

Automatic creation: The sensor programmed by this method requires OBD learning or self-learning.

Manual creation and copy creation: According to the original vehicle sensor, the sensor programmed by manual input of IDs or activation copy does not need to be learned, and can be directly installed for road testing. However, if the ID in the vehicle tire pressure module is lost, OBD learning or self-learning is still required.

3. Click the "Adjustment" icon in the upper right corner of the menu to switch the sensor ID format, temperature unit and air pressure unit according to your needs. See the following figure.

4. OE query: This function allows to directly enter the menu according to the original vehicle sensor OE to activate and program the sensor (can be selected according to the OE number or sensor brand). The menu selection is more accurate and convenient. See the following figure.

Take OE: QY1036 as an example, which includes: activation, programming and supported models. After searching and entering, it is as shown below.

5. Maintenance information: There is maintenance-related information. Customers can access and find relevant maintenance information, cases, product instructions and other related information according to their own needs. See the following figure.

6. Historical detection report: This function saves the data of the tested models. This report can be shared with technical service personnel for quick problem location. The result is as shown below.

7. Model region selection: For China APP, only China can be selected. For overseas, you can select according to your own region. See the following figure.

8. Click the "Setting" icon in the upper right corner of the main interface to access the "Settings" page. See the following figure.

9. Firmware upgrade: This function is used to upgrade and repair the i-TPMS firmware. If the sensor activation fails and the i-TPMS cannot enter the main page, a firmware upgrade is required. See the following figure.
