LAUNCH X431 Guide: 2025 Porsche 911 (992) DME Engine Adaptation
On the 2025 Porsche 911 (992), engine component adaptations can be performed through the DME with LAUNCH X431 series scanners, including X431 PAD7, PAD5, and PAD9 LINK. This procedure uses X431 PAD9 LINK as the example and shows the steps for adapting the throttle valve, exhaust flap, radiator louver, front diffuser, and secondary air central valve.
Check the Vehicle Conditions
Before entering the adaptation function, make sure these conditions are met:
- No faults are stored in the DME fault memory.
- Ignition is ON and the engine is OFF.
- Do not press the accelerator pedal.
- Apply the electric parking brake.
Enter the Engine Adaptation Function
Navigate through the diagnostic menu:
Local Diagnose → Porsche → Latest Version → Automatically Search → 911 → 911 (992) → System List → Engine Control Module (ECM/DME) → Special Function → Adaptations
Select the component that requires adaptation. Available options include the throttle valve, exhaust flap, radiator louver, front diffuser, and secondary air central valve.




Perform the Adaptation
- Follow the prompts displayed by the DME control unit.
- Read each message carefully and perform the requested action.
- Monitor the adaptation status throughout the procedure.
If the required conditions are not satisfied, the DME may store fault codes and the adaptation process may be interrupted, so complete each prompt exactly as instructed.
Finish the Procedure
When the adaptation status changes to "Correct", click Next to complete the procedure.
Workshop Notes
After the adaptation is finished, confirm the engine starts normally and the adapted component operates as expected.
