LAUNCH X431 Tool Writes Odometer Value to 2023 Ford Transit

 The LAUNCH X431 tool can write the correct odometer value to a replaced dashboard. This article will use a 2023 Ford Transit as an example to show how to perform this operation.

This Service Function Allows The Correct Odometer Value To Be Entered Into A Replacement Instrument Cluster. The Odometer Value Can Only Be Incremented. It Is Not Possible To Reduce The Displayed Value.

Device used: LAUNCH X431 PRO3 V+ ELITE

Operation Procedure:

1) Connect the X431 tool to the vehicle, open the X-431 APP, and click [Local Diagnose] -> [Ford].

2) Choose [Automatically Search] to identify car models automatically. Set the ignition switch to ON (Position II) and confirm that the vehicle information is correct.

3) Enter the topology diagram interface, and click [Smart Detection] to scan the entire vehicle systems.

4) Click [IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster)] to enter the system.

5) Click [Special Functions] -> [Odometer Configuration].

6) Choose the display unit for odometer readings. Kilometers are used as an example; the procedure for miles is identical. Choose [Exit] to quit the program directly.

7) Enter the new odometer value in integer format (using 888 as an example).

8) Confirm the entered odometer value and whether to program this value into the instrument cluster. Click YES.

9) Wait for the new odometer reading to be written to the dashboard, and confirm that the new odometer reading has been written successfully.

Click [Yes] to complete the operation, and turn the ignition switch to OFF (position 0) to exit the program.
