LAUNCH X431 IMMO Tool Adds New Keys to Honda Vehicle
The LAUNCH X431 IMMO tool can be used to add new smart keys to Honda vehicles. This article will use a 2013 Honda Accord as an example to first introduce how to generate a key, and then perform key matching/programming.
NOTE: The LAUNCH X431 IMMO series products are identical in terms of key programming functionality. The X431 IMMO tools are currently available in IMMO ELITE and IMMO PLUS (IMMO PRO is a product sold through offline distributors and has the same functionality).
Tools used:
Two car smart keys (one new, unprogrammed key, one original key);
LAUNCH X431 IMMO Tool (IMMO ELITE was used in this case; you can do the same with IMMO PLUS/IMMO PRO);
The X431 IMMO tool standard package includes the XPROG3 key programmer and a DBScar VII connector. If key generation is required, the X431 Key Programmer must be purchased separately.
Part 1. Generating the Key
Click [Read Transponder].
Put the original car key next to the X431 Key Programmer to identify the chip information.
Remember the original car key chip model.
Click [Vehicle Remote].
Generate the key for the corresponding model.(Accord 2013 47A was selected this time)
Put the key machine into the X431 Key Programmer to generate the key.
After generating the key, open the anti-theft software to increase the key.
Part 2. Programming the Key
Choose Honda IMMO Software.
Click [Anti-Theft Key Matching] -> [Add 1 Key].
Follow the prompts displayed by the X431 tool; the typical procedure is as follows:
- Turn The Ignition Switch Off;
- Turn The Ignition Switch To On With An Original Key;
- Turn The Ignition Switch Off Within 20 Seconds;
- Turn The Ignition Switch To On With A New KeyWithin 20 Seconds;
- Turn The Ignition Switch Off Within 20 Seconds;
- Turn The Ignition Switch To On Within 20 Seconds, Without Changing The Key;
- Turn The Ignition Switch Off;
- Turn The Ignition Switch On.
Next, the X431 tool will ask: "Does the Immobilizer Indicator Light Go Off?" Clicking [Yes] indicates successful key matching.
Finally, the X431 tool will perform a test on the original car key to ensure it works. The process is typically:
- Turn the Ignition Switch Off;
- Turn the Ignition Switch On with an Original Key.
The work is now complete; both the new key and the original car key can be used normally.
