LAUNCH X431 Tool: ECM/ PCM Replacement on 2024 Honda CR-V
LAUNCH X431 diagnostic tool can establish communication and re-match the vehicle’s engine/ECM. For example, Honda vehicles require system matching after replacing the ECM/PCM, otherwise the vehicle may not start. This article explains how to perform this procedure.
Function Description:
This function is used for Honda models when the key cannot start the engine after the engine ECU is replaced.
At this time, the green key light flashes on the instrument panel.
After this function is completed, the vehicle can be started normally.

Execution Conditions:
1. A new engine ECU’is required.
2. The vehicle battery voltage must be no less than 12V and the device must be fully charged.
3. During the operation, it is required to strictly follow the device prompt information to turn off or turn on the ignition.
Operation process:
1. Choose [Local Diagnose], and then choose [Honda] for testing. Click OK.
2. Click [16PIN DLC], and then choose the region to automatically identify the car model. For this test, choose the [General] region.
3. Confirm the vehicle information, and then click OK.
4. Choose the one-push start system and click [ENTER].
5. Choose [Registration] -> [Replace ECM/PCM].
6. First, perform the initialization operation. Communicate with the engine system and then register the key lock cylinder. Please wait.
7. Turn off the ignition switch as prompted, and then click OK.
8. Turn on the ignition switch as prompted, and then click OK.
9. Bring a smart key into the car to confirm whether the ignition switch can be turned on by normal operation. Click OK.
10. The key lock cylinder registration login is completed. Then register the smart key. Please wait.
11. Turn off the ignition switch as prompted, and then click OK.
12. Bring an original smart key into the car, take out other keys and place them more than two meters away from the vehicle, and then click OK.
13. Turn on the ignition switch, and then click OK.
14. The smart key registration login is successful, and the registration is completed. Turn off the ignition switch, and click OK.
15. Check all keys to ensure that each key can start the engine.Check all keys to ensure that each key can lock and unlock the door. Click OK.
16. Turn on the ignition switch, and then click OK.
