LAUNCH X431 Tool DoIP Protocol Connection Method 2025
LAUNCH X431 tool supports vehicle DoIP protocol diagnostics. DoIP, short for Diagnostic Communication over Internet Protocol, is an Internet-based diagnostic communication protocol.
Depending on the different VCIs included with the LAUNCH X431 diagnostic tool, LAUNCH offers five connection methods to accommodate different diagnostic needs for vehicles utilizing the DoIP (Diagnostic over IP) protocol. Here’s a summary of the available methods:
Method 1: For X431 PAD9/ PAD7/ PAD5 LINK Connection [Recommended];
Method 2: For X431 PRO3 LINK(PRO3 V+ ELITE, PRO3S+ ELITE) Connection;
Method 3: For X431 PAD III V3.0/ PRO3 SE/ PRO SE Connection;
Method 4: For X431 PRO5 Connection;
Method 5: For X431 PAD III, X431 PAD III V2 Connection.

Complete support, no separate DolP cable needed.


Method 2
SmartLink C + X431 PRO3 LINK(PRO3 V+ ELITE, PRO3S+ ELITE): Type C to Tablet
Use X431 PRO3 LINK(PRO3 V+ ELITE, PRO3S+ ELITE) with USB Type A to Type B cable.

Method 3
DBScar VII + X431 PAD III V3.0/ PR03 SE/ PRO SE/ CRP919 Series: Y-splitter cable to Tablet
PCS DoIP adapter cable (for DBScar VII).

Method 4
SmartLink C + X431 PRO5: Micro USB to Tablet
Use X431 PRO5 with USB Type B to Micro USB cable.

Method 5
DBScar IV + X431 PAD III/ PAD III V2: Y-splitter cable + RJ45
PCS X431 BMW F-chassis ECU programming cable.
