LAUNCH CRP129 V3 Series vs. CRP129 V2 Series
LAUNCH CRP129 series diagnostic tools (CRP129E / CRP129X) have been updated to the new V3 version. Compared with the old version, the V3 version adds support for DOIP and CANFD protocols, and the interface has also been updated. This article will compare the differences between the CRP129 V3 series and the V2 series.

The difference between CAN protocol and DOIP protocol
If the user does not configure the DOIP cable, the vehicle with DOIP protocol cannot communicate.
For example, Mercedes-Benz vehicles after 2022 are basically DOIP protocol, and Mercedes-Benz vehicles before 2022 are CAN protocol.
As for how to distinguish whether the vehicle is CAN protocol or DOIP protocol, the X431 diagnostic tool will identify it based on the VIN code. If it is a DOIP protocol vehicle, a prompt will appear to connect the DOIP cable.
There is another situation, such as Land Rover vehicles that support both CAN protocol and DOIP protocol.
During the diagnosis process of such vehicles, there will be a corresponding prompt:
"this vehicle model uses DolP protocol communication, using Can protocol communication may cause system loss". (It should be noted that "system loss" here does not mean that the system module will be damaged, but that the system module scanned by the CAN protocol may be less than that of the DOIP protocol.)

How to upload diagnostic feedback for CRP129 V3
Select the function path: Toolbox -> Feedback. Select the abnormal test record in the diagnostic log file and upload the file for feedback. LAUNCH X431 official engineers can see the diagnostic record and find the problem.
